Chase Sapphire Lounges no longer accept outside Priority Pass
If you have been getting into Chase Sapphire Lounges on the Priority Pass that came with your Amex Platinum, that stopped on 15 August 2026.
The short version: Priority Pass still works at more than a thousand lounges worldwide. It no longer works at Chase’s own.
What actually changed
Before 15 August, a Priority Pass member could visit a Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club once per calendar year at no charge, with further visits available at a discounted $75. That arrangement was unusual — most issuers do not sell discounted entry to a rival’s cardholders — and it has now ended.
From 15 August 2026, a Priority Pass membership earned through any non-Chase card grants no complimentary access and no discounted rate at these lounges.
One thing got better for eligible Chase cardholders on the same date: on a same-day connecting itinerary, you can now enter a Chase Sapphire Lounge up to five hours before your onward flight, up from the previous three-hour window. Originating flights still use the three-hour window.

Sapphire Reserve cardmembers are unaffected in every respect, including bringing up to two guests at no charge. Chase’s own lounge page describes eligibility only as a “Chase-issued Priority Pass™ Select membership” — that phrase is the whole change in six words.
Your Priority Pass is not diminished anywhere else. Every other lounge in the network still works exactly as before. This is one network withdrawing from one arrangement, not a downgrade to your membership.
The lounges this affects
Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club currently operates eight lounges, with a ninth announced:

What to do instead
If you hold Sapphire Reserve, nothing changes. This is now a meaningfully better card at these eight airports than it was a week ago.
If your Priority Pass came from somewhere else, you have three options at those airports:
- Use a different lounge. At JFK, Amex Platinum still opens the Centurion Lounge in Terminal 4 and Delta Sky Clubs on a same-day Delta ticket. At BOS, Amex Platinum opens the Centurion Lounge in Terminal E. Most of these airports have several lounges on other networks — the point is that “no Chase” rarely means “no lounge”.
- Pay the walk-in rate. $100 where published, subject to capacity. That is the full public price, not a Priority Pass discount, and it is worth comparing against what else is available in your terminal first.
- Skip it. At six of these eight airports there is an alternative your existing cards already open.
How we know
Chase does not publish the effective date on its lounge page. The 15 August 2026 date is reported consistently by six independent outlets, and the direction of the change is confirmed in Chase’s own wording, which now scopes eligibility to a “Chase-issued Priority Pass™ Select membership” and does not mention memberships from other issuers.
We record that split deliberately: the change is confirmed at source, the date is secondary reporting. Where the two differ in strength we say so rather than presenting both as equally solid.
