What we collect — and everything we don't

Analytics: privacy-first, no cookies

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect or store any personal data, and does not track you across sites or over time. All measurements are aggregated and anonymous. No personal profile of you is ever created, and we do not sell or share analytics data.

The newsletter signup

If you enter your email to be notified when we add new lounges, we use that email address only to send you those updates. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message, and doing so removes you from the list.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The site stores a small amount of information in your own browser — such as your light/dark theme choice and the cards in your saved wallet — so the site works the way you left it. This stays on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party.

Affiliate links

Some outbound credit-card links may be affiliate links. When you click one, the destination site (the card issuer or an affiliate network) may set its own cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy — we have no control over and no access to that. We never see your card application or any information you submit to the issuer. See our advertiser & affiliate disclosure for how those links work.

Your choices

• You can use the entire site without giving us any personal information.
• You can unsubscribe from email updates at any time.
• You can clear the theme and wallet data at any time by clearing your browser storage.
• Because our analytics collect no personal data, there is no personal profile to request or delete.

Children

This site is intended for adults researching travel and credit-card options and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

The iOS app

The Lounge Intelligence app works differently from this website, so it is described separately.

The app has no account and no sign-up

There is nothing to log in to.

Your wallet stays on your device

The cards, memberships and airline status you select are stored in the app's local storage on your phone. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.

Location is used and discarded

If you allow location access, the app reads your position once to work out which airport you are nearest, and then discards it. It is never stored and never transmitted. You can decline and pick an airport by hand; the app is fully functional either way.

The lounge data is inside the app

The whole dataset ships in the app binary, so the app works with no connection at all. Using it does not tell us which lounges or airports you looked at, because your device is not asking us anything.

The app runs no analytics and no advertising

There is no tracking, no advertising identifier, and no third-party analytics of any kind in the app. (The Plausible analytics described above run on this website only.)

Two things are sent, and only when you choose to send them

Issue reports. If you tap “Report an issue” on a lounge and submit the form, we receive the lounge's identifier, the category you picked, the text you wrote, the version of the dataset you were using, and an anonymous identifier described below.

Crash reports. If a screen in the app fails, the app shows you what happened and offers to send a report. Nothing is sent unless you tap send, and you can read the exact contents first. If you send it, we receive the error message, the technical stack trace, the app and dataset versions, and any note you add. Card and status identifiers are stripped from the report before it is stored, so it cannot contain your wallet. The app never reports a crash on its own.

The anonymous identifier

Both submissions carry an anonymous identifier generated by Firebase Authentication. It exists so we can enforce write limits and stop abuse. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID or any account, because the app has no accounts. We hold no user records to connect it to.

Who processes this

Reports are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, which processes them on our behalf. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers, data brokers or card issuers.

Deleting a report

Because submissions are anonymous, we cannot look up which ones are yours. If you want a report removed, contact us with enough detail to identify it — the lounge and roughly when you sent it — and we will delete it.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects nothing that would identify one.
